Default Settings

• The default settings are optimized for USDJPY.

• For EURUSD, I use the same parameters but with a range time of 09:00 – 10:30.

• Orders are canceled at 20:55 and positions closed at 21:55.

Range Breakout Expert Advisor — Settings Overview

General Settings

• Timeframe Range Calculation
  The chart timeframe used to calculate the daily range.
  Recommended: Use PERIOD_M1 for live trading. Adjust only in the tester if M1 data is insufficient.

• Trading Volume
  Mode for determining lot size per trade. Options include fixed lots or risk-based calculations.

• Fixed Lots
  Lot size per trade when using fixed volume mode.

• Fixed Lots Per x Money
  Uses a fixed lot size per each specified amount of account balance.

• Risk Percentage of Balance
  Calculates lot size so the specified percentage of your account balance is at risk if the initial stop loss (SL) triggers.

• Order Puffer Points (0 = No Puffer)
  Pending orders are placed this many points above and below the daily range.

• Target Factor (0 = No TP)
  Take Profit (TP) distance from the entry price, calculated as a multiple of the current range size.

• Stop Factor (0 = No SL)
  Stop Loss (SL) distance from the entry price, calculated as a multiple of the current range size.

Time Settings

• Range Start Hour & Minute
  Start time for defining the daily range.

• Range End Hour & Minute
  End time for defining the daily range.

• Delete Orders Hour & Minute
  Time when all pending orders will be canceled.

• Close Positions (true/false)
  Whether to close open trades automatically at a specified time.

• Close Positions Hour & Minute
  Time when open positions will be closed if enabled.

Trailing Stop Settings

• BE Stop Trigger Points (0 = Inactive)
  Profit in points at which the Break Even stop activates.

• BE Stop Puffer Points
  Additional points the SL is moved into profit once BE stop triggers.

• TSL Trigger Points (0 = Inactive)
  Profit level at which the Trailing Stop activates.

• TSL Points
  Distance behind current market price at which the Trailing Stop trails.

• TSL Step Points
  Minimum distance the SL must move before being modified again.

Trading Frequency Settings

• Max Long Trades
  Maximum number of buy trades allowed per day.

• Max Short Trades
  Maximum number of sell trades allowed per day.

• Max Total Trades
  Maximum total trades allowed per day (long + short).

Range Filter Settings

• Min Range Points
  Minimum range size to trigger trading. Smaller ranges are ignored.

• Max Range Points
  Maximum range size to trigger trading. Larger ranges are ignored.

Additional Settings

• Range Color
  Visual color of the range object on the chart.

• Order Comment
  Text comment added to every trade placed by the EA.

• Magic Number
  Unique identifier for the EA’s trades. Important if running multiple EAs in one account.

• Chart Comment
  Toggle display of EA status info in the upper left corner of the chart.

• Debug Mode
  Enables detailed logging in the expert journal for troubleshooting.
