Liquidity Sentiment Profile: A Smart Indicator for Traders

The Liquidity Sentiment Profile is an advanced trading tool designed to help traders gain a deep understanding of market liquidity and sentiment. It does this by analyzing both price and volume data over specific anchored time periods.

By showing how liquidity and market sentiment are spread across different price levels, this indicator helps traders spot key market features such as support and resistance zones, supply and demand areas, and liquidity gaps.

In trading, liquidity refers to how easily transactions can be made—meaning there are enough buy and sell orders at various prices to allow smooth trading. Knowing where liquidity is concentrated using the Liquidity Sentiment Profile helps traders make smarter, more confident decisions.

How to Use the Liquidity Sentiment Profile

A Liquidity Sentiment Profile combines liquidity and sentiment analysis into a single, easy-to-read chart. On the right side, it displays the distribution of trading activity across different price levels, while the left side reveals the market sentiment associated with those prices.

Using distinct color schemes, this tool visually highlights key information, allowing traders to quickly interpret market conditions and make well-informed decisions.

This indicator also highlights Value Areas, which mark important price levels where significant trading occurs. These value areas can appear multiple times within a single profile, helping traders spot potential buying or selling zones with greater confidence.

Traders can also watch the Level of Significance Line, which marks price levels with the highest trading activity—often referred to as the developing Point of Control (POC). This helps highlight where the market is most focused.

Adjusting Settings for Optimal Use

The Liquidity Sentiment Profile offers a range of customizable settings to help you tailor the indicator to your trading style. Each setting includes helpful tooltips that explain its purpose and how to use it effectively.

Customizing Liquidity Sentiment Profiles

  • Anchor Period: Controls the time frame for data analysis. The default is set to AUTO for automatic adjustment.

Fine-Tuning Liquidity Profile Settings

  • Liquidity Profile: Turn the visibility of the liquidity profile on or off.

  • High Traded Nodes: Set thresholds and choose colors to highlight areas with high trading activity.

  • Average Traded Nodes: Select colors to represent average trading activity levels.

  • Low Traded Nodes: Adjust thresholds and colors for low trading activity areas.

Tailoring Sentiment Profile Settings

  • Sentiment Profile: Enable or disable the sentiment display as needed.

  • Bullish Nodes: Choose colors to represent bullish market sentiment.

  • Bearish Nodes: Select colors for bearish sentiment visualization.

Additional Settings

  • Level of Significance: Toggle the visibility of this important line.

  • Profile Price Levels: Control whether price levels appear on the profile.

  • Number of Rows: Define how many rows each histogram profile contains. Note that higher values may reduce the viewable historical data.

  • Profile Width %: Adjust the relative width of each histogram row for better visibility.

  • Profile Range Background Fill: Turn background shading on or off for easier reading.

Be Aware of Limitations

Because this tool uses drawing objects, setting a high number of histogram rows can limit how much historical data is visible. In some cases, this may cause incomplete profile displays.
